We are often asked how it works if you want to sell an item, hopefully this helps answer some of your questions. Please do contact us if you have further questions or would like us to come and visit you.
1) Initial Contact
If you are able, we would ask you to email us pictures of the item(s) you are considering selling. This helps give us some idea of their value and direct your enquiry to the best person. You can do this using our contact form – click here. If you are not able to do this, just ring the shop on 01799 527517 and we’ll put you into our book to call around to look. It can take a week or two to get to you as we are usually booked up that far in advance (we are always very busy!) but we do try and deal with enquiries as soon as possible.
2) We value the item
We either arrange to visit you at a mutually convenient time, or you can sometimes arrange to bring the item in to the shop for us to see. Either way we will then give you our assessment of the object(s) and a valuation. This is an offer to buy the item from you, no strings, no if’s, no but’s. You can choose to think on this valuation or accept/reject right away. Either way we don’t charge for this process and the decision is entirely yours – we never apply any pressure or hard sell.
If you do agree to sell us the item then we will usually take the item away right away and pay you the relevant monies.
